How Many Maternity/Nursing Bras Mums Actually Own

Last week we published an article about how many maternity/nursing bras we think you need. Later on, we decided to verify with out customers. We sent out a simple questionnaires and we got 37 responses in total. We know of course, every mum is unique but this result may help you decide (or justify ;)) if you haven't made up your mind.

Our of the 37 responses, 21 are first time mums- 6 expecting and 15 nursing already.

When asked how many maternity/nursing bras they own, the answers are quite varied. Some have zero while others own up to 13. For the mums that have zero, we assume it is because either their breasts did not change that much during pregnancy/nursing and they are comfortable nursing in normal bras. For the mums that have 13 bras, they did mention that they primarily rotate through 7-8 while having others as back-ups. As you can see from the graphs below, most mums own 4- 6 bras. In terms of day/night bra split, again, answers are very different, but the most common split is 2 (sleep)/3 (day).

Interestingly, mums did mention that some they use regularly and the others are "not very good". So we do highly recommend you to choose the most comfortable ones as breastfeeding is quite challenging itself.
